Hello dear students,
This summer holiday was no holiday for me. I became a student again! Yeah, I'm serious. I was studying online. It was a course offered by the University of Oregon in USA. Yeah, U.S.A!! I'm not kidding! If you don't believe me, I will show you my certificate once I get it. I might receive it by the end of September. We were about thirty teachers ( students, I would prefer to call us) from different parts of the world. They were from Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, Honduras, Jordan, Portugal ... and of course, Morocco. I was the only one representing our country. We had a lovely teacher. Her name is Deborah, but I like to call her 'Delicious Deborah'. Because she was very nice with us. She always provided help whenever we needed it. Every week, she gave us, at least, three assignments and a task to do. We had to do lots of readings and research on the Web. We also had to post our writings and discuss them on Nicenet. Well, Nicenet is just like a classroom where students meet their teacher and learn together. It is generally known as a virtual classroom. We had some really interesting discussions. We learnt a lot from each other and all the teachers, I mean students, are willing to share what they learnt with their students. We learnt how to use new technologies and the Internet to teach you better. This year, we shall see some examples of these web tools and how you can use them to improve your English. We're going, first, to know how we can use this class blog to learn although we are not in the classroom. Yes, this is possible. I will give you links, for instance, that you can check to review something we did in class but , perhaps, we hadn't had enough practice in it. So, let's move to ACTION.
To brush up your English tenses, I want you to visit the links below and do the exercises.
When you finish typing your answers click on the button 'CHECK' at the bottom of the page. If you feel that you still need more practice, you can always do do the exercises on the following links:
All right, dear students. Now, let's test our sports vocabulary through the following games. Click on the links and START the quiz.
Happy learning.
See you next time.
Your teacher of English,
Arbi
